Help needed preparing Thanksgiving baskets, dinners

Sunday to help them celebrate their 41st anniversary as pastor and first lady of the Bethel Baptist Church. A special thanks to Rev. David Towns for the message and to the Rocky Mt. Baptist Church

family for their presence. We also wish to say thanks to the Bethel Baptist Church, the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and the Springfield Baptist Church families for coming together as a committee to celebrate a banquet in our honor on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Thomaston-Upson County Civic Center. Thanks to Rev. Curtis Raines who was guest speaker. To all the ministers and other program participants who made the banquet a success, thanks and thanks again. A special thanks also go out to the following: to Mr. J. E. Bentley Jr. for his limousine service, to Mrs. Mary Kelley for the use of her facility to prepare the food, to Mrs. Patricia King for catering such a good meal, to Dea. George Flowers for rendering the music, to the florist, to the photographer Mr. Lorenza Wilder, to Ms. Kim Gibson, Ms. Bridgette Willis, Ms. Linda Colbert and Mr. Christopher Murphy for the souvenir booklet, to all the hostesses and everyone else who were present to show their love. Rev. Respress' motto is "Love is what it does." Again, thanks. Rev. & Mrs. J. W. (Carolyn) Respress - Pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church for 41 years. The Salem Civic Organization and the Ladies LOVE Club are soliciting your support in helping us prepare the fruit baskets and Thanksgiving dinners for our senior citizens and sick and shut-in. The Olive Grove Baptist Church Usher Board will celebrate their anniversary on Sunday, Nov. 10, beginning with Sunday School at 10 a.m. Morning worship service follows at 11 a.m. There will be only one sermon. Rev. R. L. Hodo will deliver the message.

The New Lebanon Baptist Church family will celebrate their pastor and wife's 10th pastoral anniversary on Sunday, Nov. 10, beginning with Sunday School at 10:30 a.m. Morning worship service begins at 11:30 a.m. At 2:30 p.m, the anniversary message will be brought by Rev. D-Meke Colbert, and the Logtown Bethel Church family will be their special guests. Please come out and join this celebration with the New Lebanon Baptist Church. Rev. F. R. Smith - Pastor.

Note time change . . . The monthly meeting of the NAACP will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Triune Village Community Room. Mr. Marvin Cunningham - President.

Our prayers and sympathy to the Short family of the passing of Mr. Henry T. "Boot" Short. May God strengthen this family in their time of sorrow.

Anniversary wishes are extended to Mr. and Mrs. Dexter (Bobbette) Harper. They will be celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary on Thursday, Nov. 7. We wish them many more anniversaries to come.
