‘War of the Worlds: The True Story’ at The Ritz for one show on Oct. 30

Hello, I am movie producer Susan Goforth writing to tell you about a special new movie “War of the Worlds the True Story” event happening in collaboration with The Ritz Theatre on Tuesday, Oct. 30, the night before Halloween, on the 74th anniversary of Orson Welles’ infamous radio broadcast. It pleases me as punch to play in Thomaston because, aside from your town being beautiful inside and out (if you know what I mean), it could be the sister-city to Woking, England, where the famous War of the Worlds story originally took place.

“War of the Worlds, The True Story” is a new movie based on the most beloved alien invasion story of all time by the father of Science Fiction, H.G. Wells. It assumes the world knows there was a war between Earth and Mars in the year 1900 and is presented as the eyewitness account of 86-year-old Bertie Wells, the last living survivor of the Earth/Mars War, as he struggles to find his wife amidst the destruction of humankind at the hands of terrifying alien invaders. The movie uses cutting edge visual effects to blend a modern cast with battalions of actual fighting soldiers, golden age movie stars, and previously undisclosed images of tentacled alien creatures and their machines of War.

This movie was made from the heart over many years to appeal to people of all ages. The messages of the film are that arrogance leads to downfall in many ways, and that we must keep ourselves together and keep our faith during the good and bad times.

Our main fan groups have been people who enjoy History and Discovery, Star Trek fans, literary fans, war history buffs, video gamers, and young people into science fiction, robotics, space/science and entertaining movies with giant epic war battles, ten-story-tall robotic walking war machines with heat-ray weapons, frightening alien creatures, 1000’s of Soldiers, Artillery, War Horses, Poisonous Black Smoke, a stunning sea battle, grand explosions, destruction of cities including London, and human loss, love and the triumph of spirit.

It is appropriate for families and Parental Guidance is recommended for children under the age of 12 as the movie contains fantasy war action and extraterrestrial terror.

Our senior fans love the movie because of the use of real military war footage and golden-era movie footage where you may catch very famous movie stars playing ordinary people in church, shining shoes, dancing, and even being crushed in the Martian invaders’ destruction.

There is an “Easter Egg” after the end credits, a fun sci-fi fan insider tip-of-the-hat to Orson Welles.

I hope you have a chance to come to our special movie night, Tuesday, October 30, 2012, the night before Halloween at the Ritz Theatre, as I believe you will really enjoy it!! Please pass on to all looking for a fun Night Before Halloween event.

Thank you for your time. Hope you’re having a wonderful October.

God bless,

Susan Goforth
