Upson County residents will soon have two new facilities open which will provide a variety of activities. In the upper photo, the new Thomaston-Upson School System Fine Arts Building is taking shape. The facility will feature a 900-seat auditorium that can be used for graduations, plays, concerts, art shows, and other activities. The Fine Arts Building is expected to open in May. In the right photo, workers are busy installing bleachers at the new South Bethel Street Sports Complex, located at the football field on the old campus of R. E. Lee, across from the government complex. Using SPLOST funds, the sports complex will have two new concession/restroom buildings, a full-size football field, and a smaller flag football field. The fields are expected to be opened in February.
