The Thomaston-Upson Chamber of Commerce, Three Rivers Regional and the Department of Transportation will hold a forum to educate the public on the Upcoming (T-SPLOST) Transportation Investment Act (TIA) Referendum on Monday, July 23 from 8 - 9 a.m. at the Southern Crescent Technical College, Flint River Campus, located at 115 East Main Street in downtown Thomaston. Donuts, juice and coffee will be served.
If approved by voters in the 10-county Three Rivers Regional Commission, funds raised by the 1 percent Transportation Special Local Option Sales Tax will be used to widen Highway 36 from I-75 to Thomaston, and will also provide an estimated $14.2 million to Upson County, Thomaston and Yatesville for road work over the 10-year period of the tax.
If you are planning to attend, please contact the Chamber to let us know or if you need directions to the Southern Crescent Technical College downtown location, call 706-647-9686.
