‘Sounds of the Season’ scheduled for Dec. 3

Get your Christmas Holidays off to a musical start by attending the fourth annual “Sounds of the Season” at 7 p.m. on Monday, December 3 at the R. E. Lee Auditorium. Kay Robinson, State Farm, and agents Robert Fallin and Trennis Dumas are sponsoring this delightfully uplifting Christmas show in memory of Ed Bell.

Local vocalists and instrumentalists take the stage for a magical evening at “Sounds of the Season,” which features sacred hymns, familiar carols, and popular Christmas tunes.

Performing are such outstanding talents as The Due South Band with Bennie Rose, David Thompson and Dan Kilgore; Leah and Bethany Smith, harp and violin; pianist Jennifer Durham; The Celebration Ringers from 1st Baptist Church; and The Sweet Georgia Violins, playing Vivaldi’s “Winter.”

Vocalists are Erin Clarke, singing “Hace Bambino”; Sylvia Winters, Keith Johnson, Jana and Hannah Claire Marks, Jaye Eubanks, Morgan Eldridge, Anna Jordan, Grace Wolverton, and Taylor Drawdy will solo.

Groups that will be highlighted are The 5 Accords; a ladies’ quintet featuring Carmen Ellerbee, Resa Price, Joan Thomas, Christy Drawdy, and Christen Colwell; and the Men’s Choir from Upson-Lee High School under the direction of Jeremy Rooks. The FUMC Praise Band will perform. A Gordon trio, featuring Lee and Donna Brown, and Olivia Gunn, will sing French Carols.

For its premiere Thomaston performance, the Ladies’ Community Choir, under the direction of Joan Thomas, will sing.

Tickets are reserved seating and are on sale now at the TUAC Gallery for $8/adults and $5/children and students, or they can be purchased at the door. Purchase your ticket before Dec. 3 to avoid long lines at the door. TUAC is located at 118 South Church Street, on the square in Thomaston, and is open Tues, Thurs. and Fri. 10-5 and Wed 10-12.
