Flint River Academy Holding Graduation Ceremony May 21

Graduation ceremonies will be held on Monday, May 21 at 8 p.m. in the Flint River Academy gymnatorium. Baccalaureate will be Sunday, May 20 at 8 p.m. at the Woodbury Baptist Church.

Valedictorian Lindsey Purvis, Salutatorian Kaitlyn Roberson, and five other Honor Graduates will address their classmates during the graduation ceremonies.

The class Valedictorian, Lindsey Purvis, is the daughter of Michele and the late Kip Purvis of Woodbury. She has attended Flint River Academy for nine years and has a 4.035 grade point average. Lindsey is the FRA STAR Student and the Meriwether County STAR Student. She is the Vice President of Projects and Programs of the FRA Chapter of the National Honor Society and was the President of the National Junior Honor Society. Lindsey was the Sophomore Class Treasurer and the Freshman Class Secretary. She is a member of the Key Club and has served as the Sophomore Representative and the Red Cross Blood Drive Chairman. Lindsey has received the Janice Wasden Fine Arts Award, the Bausch and Lomb Honor Science Award, the Woodmen of the World American History Award, and the FRA Subject Awards in English, Math, and Science. She won the GISA Rhetorical Analysis Essay category at the State Literary Competition, is a Georgia Merit Scholar, and has participated in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Lindsey will attend Berry College in the fall and major in Literature.

The class Salutatorian, Kaitlyn Roberson, is the daughter of David and Christie Roberson of Woodbury. She has attended FRA for 14 years. Kaitlyn is the yearbook editor and the National Honor Society Vice President of Membership. She has been the President of her class for four years and a Key Club officer for three years. She has served on the March of Dimes Junior Board and participated in Science Olympiad, Math Bowl, Choraliers, and the Meriwether Youth Leadership. Kaitlyn has also been a Varsity Cheerleader for four years, and was a captain her Junior and Senior years. She has been on the Headmasters Honor Roll every semester since first grade. She has received the FRA Subject Award in Biology, Technology, Physical Science, Pre-Calculus, and Advanced Biology. Kaitlyn has earned the Georgia Certificate of Merit, the Furman College Scholars Award, The Berner Charitable and Scholarship Foundation Scholarship, the Southern Rivers Energy Trust Scholarship, and the Memorial Fund Scholarship from the Masonic Lodge. Kaitlyn will be attending the University of Georgia to study Chemistry for a Pharmacy major.

Flint River Academy is proud to announce that the other students graduating with honors include: Hunter Adkins of Greenville, Kristin Brown of Woodbury, Amy Adams of Woodbury, Alex Perez of Manchester, and Jordan Nash of Greenville.

Rounding out the class of 21 is: Alli Bachtle of Thomaston, Gayla Bell of Woodbury, Nick Brown of Woodbury, Blake Fuller of Greenville, Michael Martin of Molena, Mohammed Momin of Manchester, Kyle Murray of Luthersville, Lisa Nguyen of Warm Springs, Jeffery Phillips of Manchester, Heather Pippin of Manchester, Jamie Sibley of Woodbury, Cameron Strickland of Gay, Ayla Welch of Meansville, and Ryan Williamson of Woodbury.
