The 2012 Veterans Day ceremony was held on Monday at the Greatest Generation Memorial Park. The program was planned and sponsored by the Upson-Lee High School NJROTC Unit. In the upper photo, veterans gathered for a group photo. In the left photo, five ULHS Cadets stand behind memorial wreaths and salute as the colors are marched in and presented. Behind them are, left to right, Senior Naval Instructor and NJROTC Commander Jim Jarvis, Thomaston-Upson School Superintendent Dr. Maggie Shook, ULHS Principal Tracy Caldwell, and Thomaston-Upson Board of Education Chairman Terrell Jackson. The memorial wreaths were later placed on the war memorials at the Upson County Courthouse.
