Upson County man killed in holiday weekend accident

An resident of Upson County’s Salem Community died as a result of injuries sustained in a single car accident that occurred on July 4.

Glenn Matthews of Colloden died at a Macon hospital, where he was taken by ambulance following the accident.

According to a Georgia State Patrol spokesperson, Matthews was driving a 1995 Chevrolet Camaro on Olive Grove Church Road in Crawford County when lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree. The car overturned and both the driver and a passenger were ejected.

The passenger was transported to a Macon hospital. His condition is not known at press time.
