The re-test results are in and the news is good for Upson-Lee Middle School. It has now met Annual Yearly Progress for the second year in a row and is no longer among Georgia’s schools in Needs Improvement status.
“I am extremely proud of the middle school’s accomplishments for making AYP two years in a row, which enables them to come off the Needs Improvement list. I’m proud of (principal) Patsy Dean’s initiatives and those of her entire staff, the board of education, the students, the parents and the community who have made this happen,” said school superintendent Dr. Maggie Shook.
“The K-12 focus for the past two years has supported Upson-Lee Middle School’s efforts to increase student achievement for all subgroups,” she added.... (Read full story in Tuesday's edition of The Times.)
