Thomaston’s Brennen Smith is living every kid’s dream this summer. Thanks in part to a silent auction won by his grandparents Steve and Jan Ellis at a gala benefiting educational initiatives of the Auburn University Hotel and Management Program, Brennen receives the honor of throwing out the first pitch for different minor league games around the state of Alabama. Brennen has thrown out first pitches for the Montgomery Biscuits, Mobile Bay Bears, and will be throwing first pitches out for the Huntsville Stars and Birmingham Barons later this month. Above, Brennen throws out the first pitch at a Mobile Bay Bears game, where he was on the field next to Hall of Famer Hank Aaron.
