THOMASTON – Mr. Marion Arlington George, age 82, of Thomaston, Ga., died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin, Ga.

Mr. George was born on December 29, 1930 in Thomaston, Ga., to the late Rada and Frances Partain George. He was employed with Thomaston Mills, where he worked as a department manager in the shop for 49 years. Mr. George was a member of the Thomaston Masonic Lodge F&AM for over 50 years. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jo Ann George of Thomaston, Ga.; daughter, Ms. Fran George of Thomaston, Ga.; sons, Mr. James (Beverly) George of Thomaston, Ga., Mr. Andy (Terri) George of Thomaston, Ga.; sister-in-law Mrs. Mary George of Thomaston, Ga; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. The family will received friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 5-7 p.m.
