Funeral services for Mrs. Margie Meeks Dickens, 80, of Highway 19 North, will be held Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, at 2 p.m., at Shiloh Baptist Church, with the Rev. Drew Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Dickens died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Christy Chapman of Day Road.

Mrs. Dickens was a native of Upson County. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Grady Meeks. Mr. Meeks was was the Sheriff of Upson County for many years. Mrs. Meeks was the first admissions officer at Upson Regional Medical Center, and was also a bookkeeper at various small businesses. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. Dexter B. “Britty” Dickens of Thomaston; daughters, Mrs. Sandra Dickens Mock and Mrs. Christy Dickens (Jerry) Chapman, both of Thomaston; a sister, Mrs. Geraldine Meeks Teal of Thomaston; grandchildren, Mr. Wayne Mock of Lawrenceville, Mr. Barry Mock of Winder and Mrs. Beth Chapman Giacalone and Mr. Robby Chapman, both of Thomaston; and great-grandchildren, Valerie Mock and Victoria Mock, both of Lawrenceville, an Will Mock and Katie Beth Mock, both of Winder.
Visitation will be held this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
