Funeral services for Mrs. Lilla Mae Garner, 85, of Concord were held Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at 2 p.m., in the Warren Haisten Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the Old Hebron Cemetery.

Mrs. Garner died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at Sunbridge Care and Rehab.

Haisten McCullough Funeral Home of Griffin was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Garner was born April 29, 1919 in Pike County. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Luther McGahee and the late Annie Madden McGahee. She was a member of Friendship Presbyterian Church and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her husband, John William Henry Garner; sons, George Henry Garner, David Rayford Garner and Jasper Luther Garner; a brother, William McGahee; daughter-in-law, Graceteen Garner; and son-in-law, James Sanders.

Survivors include her son, James Garner of Williamson; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Earl Kempson of Concord; daughter, Helen Sanders of Griffin; daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and John Wright of Concord; 26 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Louise Garner and Inez McGahee, both of Griffin; and several nieces and nephews.
