THOMASTON - Mr. Kenneth Wayne (Catfish) Bass, age 55, of Barnes Avenue, died at his daughter’s residence on Wednesday, February 6, 2013.
Graveside funeral services were held on Sunday, February 10, 2013 in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Derrick Keeter and Roger Smith officiating.
Mr. Bass was a native of Upson County. He was employed as a heavy equipment operater with Upson County Roads Department and a member of Clark’s Chapel Baptist Church.
Mr. Bass is survived by his wife, Sharlene Bass; two daughters, Ginger Bass (Jimmy) Westerfield of Loganville and Kandice Bass Pitts and Jim Merchant of Thomaston; five sisters, Ann (Frank) Stokes of Griffin, Janet Gore of Thomaston, Linda (Marvin) Vanderventer of Tennessee, Roo (Tim) Moran of Gladewater, Texas, and Diane Putnum of Warner Robins; three brothers, George (Sandy) Garrison of West Union, Ohio, Basil (Lola) Flournoy of Jackson and Larry Bass of Tennessee; and seven grandchildren, Tylor Pitts and Tapanga Merchant, both of Thomaston, Angie Westerfield of Chattanooga, Tenn., Jimmy Merchant, Jr., Jason Merchant and Rochelle Smith, all of Jackson, and Steve Merchant of Valdosta. Numerous great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
