The Upson-Lee Lady Knights junior varsity basketball team opened their season on Friday afternoon against Taylor County. The Lady Knights jumped on the Lady Vikings from south of town early and often.

Upson-Lee took a 13-3 lead in the first quarter, eventually leading the Lady Vikings 26-13 at halftime. The Lady Knights added to their lead in the third quarter, outscoring the Lady Vikings 14-8 on their way to a 51-36 victory.

Sophomore guard Kiashona Carter led the Lady Knights with 15 points, while Quasha Hutcherson also finished in double figures with 11 points. Keera McMillion laced the nets for nine points, Breanna Reviere added eight points, and JaKara Cherry scored six points.
