. 7 at the body shop of Steve Hannah on Hickman Fork Road. Hammock and Hannah were removing a fuel tank from underneath an auto when a light they were using fell on the floor, causing a spark, and ignited the fuel tank. Hammock was treated at Upson Regional Medical Center. The fire completely destroyed the building, as well as three cars, tools, and other materials. Hannah estimates the loss at $100,000.

Battery

A warrant was issued for Nicholas Demon Quiller, 22, 1039 Prater St. for battery under the family violence act after he allegedly hit his girlfriend, knocking her to the floor and then kicked her in the face.

Assault

Ron Terreal Ellerbee, 24, 369 MLK Drive, was arrested for aggravated assault after an incident on Nov. 6 when he allegedly pushed his aunt and threw a vase at her, causing a cut on her forhead that needed four stiches.

Livestock killed

A homeowner on Crest Hwy. reported that one of his baby goats was killed by a red and brown dog. The goat was valued at $35.

Mailbox damage

Two mailboxes were damaged on Harrell Road. They were valued at $25 each.

Forgery

United Bank, 111 Hwy. 19 N. reported to police that a black male came into the bank trying to cash a check that has been reported stolen. The offender had forged the check for $450 and given his driver's license for identification in order to get the check cashed. When the teller asked the subject to wait, he left the bank, leaving his license. The case is under investigation.

Thefts

A speaker and stereo sound mixer were reported missing from Liberty Chapel Church, 434 Liberty Chapel Church Road.

The Narcotics Task Force reported that a 1992 Buick Roadmaster they had seized was stolen from their parking lot at 601 W. Gordon St. The case is under investigation.

Heather M. Logue, 21, 617 E. Lee St., was charged with theft by shoplifting after security at Walmart reported that she concealed items on her person and tried to leave without paying for the items.

A rocking chair valued at $110 was stolen from the front porch of 803 Avalon Road.

A report of financial transaction card fraud at 461 Worthy Drive is under investigation by the Thomaston Police Deparment.

James Hines, 37, 742 Poplar Dr., was charged with theft by shoplifting after security at a local store saw him leave the store without paying for some items. The items were recovered in the parking lot after Hines tried to flee the scene.

Piggly Wiggly reported that someone had broken into a drink machine and taken $14 from inside. The machine was damaged.

A resident on W. Gordon St. reported to police that someone entered his home through an open window and stole his digital cable box. The box was located outside the home.

A homeowner reported that someone entered through a window in his home and stole over $5,000 in cash. The case is under investigation.

A gun was reported missing from a vehicle at Thomaston Ford. The case is under investigation.
