Bank of Upson President Doug Head is pleased to announce that later this summer, five locations in the Upson and Meriwether counties areas will be rebranded to use the name “SouthCrest Bank.”
“Our locations in Thomaston, Manchester, Warm Springs, and Luthersville, which currently operate as Bank of Upson and Meriwether Bank & Trust, will be renamed SouthCrest Bank, which is the name that our banking offices in Tyrone and Johns Creek already share,” Head said. “ While we acknowledge that there are sentimental attachments to the Bank of Upson and Meriwether Bank & Trust names, the fact is that we have long since grown beyond the boundaries of those two county lines. Having seven locations with three different names was confusing to our customers, since it wasn’t immediately clear that they could bank at any of our locations. We are one bank, and we’re excited about having one name: SouthCrest Bank.”
Head stated that great care is being taken to make the transition a smooth one.
“Customers will be able to continue to use their existing checks, debit cards, and loan coupon books, regardless of the bank name that appears on these items. The convenience services such as online banking and mobile banking will remain the same, as well.”
The rebranding is planned to be complete by Monday, August 27. Prior to that date, exterior signage will be changed. No changes are expected regarding the locations or operating hours of the banks.
“We have a long history of service to the Upson county area, and we definitely will continue to be a strong part of the Thomaston and Upson county community,” Head said. “If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me or any of our bank officers or employees.”
