To the Editor:

Subject: Article “6 more DUI’s netted this past weekend,” dated 10/16/2012

In this article, it is stated that during a traffic stop, Sgt. Neil Sanders “noticed a wrist band from the American Legion” on the suspect. The article also quotes the suspect as stating “he had one shot while there.”

The American Legion did not have any alcohol on the premises, nor is alcohol, other than beer, permitted on the premises. The American Legion was not the sponsor of the event and would like to assure the community that anyone caught with anything other than what is permitted by law will be escorted from the premises and will be banned according to Post guidelines.

Respectfully submitted,

Mr. Leroy Terry, Post Commander

Thomaston
