The Thomaston-Upson Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to attend the 2nd annual Business Expo which will be held on Thursday, September 6, from 3-6 p.m. at the Thomaston-Upson Civic Center. The theme of this year’s event will be “It’s a Jungle Out There!” and the event is free to the public. This is not a job fair, but rather a chance for everyone to come and see what services local businesses have to offer.

“Everyone at the Chamber is very excited about the Community/Business Expo,” said Chamber President Lori Smith, who noted this year’s event promises to be bigger and better than last year. “We have over 60 businesses that will be present to showcase to the public what products and services they have to offer to the community this time around; last year we only had 45 to sign up.”

The Business Expo will give everyone a chance to get to know the businesses in the area better. Each of the 60 that have signed up will have a booth with information about the company and representatives on hand to answer questions that you may have about the services they provide. Also throughout the event, there will be lots of give-a-ways, door prizes, a grand door prize, cooking demonstrations and food samples from Cherokee Cafe.

“There is a lot of excitement in the air from the businesses and the community and we hope that everyone will join us on Sept. 6 to see what Upson County Businesses and Chamber Members have to offer,” said Smith. “Remember, there is no cost to attend the Expo, so join us from 3 to 6 p.m. next Thursday for some fun and freebies!”
