Mid Georgia Cattlemen received the most prestigious award, “Chapter of the Year,” during the annual Georgia Cattlemen’s Convention held in Perry in April. A total of 81 chapters make up Georgia. The chapter also received three other awards: Winner – Georgia Beef Board; Largest Multi-County Membership Award; and Membership Increase Award. The Mid Georgia Cattlemen’s Chapter is made up of six counties: Upson, Talbot, Pike, Lamar, Monroe, and Spalding. The chapter is involved in the promotion, research and education as it pertains to the cattle industry. The mission of the GCA is to unite cattle producers to advance the economic, political and social interests of Georgia’s cattle industry. Current Mid Georgia Cattlemen President Danny Bentley and Past President Ray Brumbelow, along with some 20 other local members, were on hand to receive the award.
