A wreck occurred Friday morning around 7 a.m. on the square when a Pride Utility truck, driven by Michael Gosnell of Cornelia, ran the red light at the intersection of South Church Street and West Gordon Street and was struck by a Harper’s Tree Service truck, driven by Michael Edward Hurt of Concord. The accident ended with the Pride Utility truck crashing through the front window at English’s Café. Thankfully, the restaurant had not opened yet for business. According to TFC James Womble of the Georgia State Patrol, the driver of one of the vehicle and a passenger were transported to Upson Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Friday afternoon, repairs were underway at English’s Café. By Monday morning, the front window was boarded up, but the restaurant was back open.
