The 148th annual celebration of the Emancipation Proclamation in Thomaston, the oldest such celebration in the nation, was a success on May 24-25. The celebration featured one of the largest parades in recent history, food and entertainment on Cunningham Avenue after the parade, and a Fun Day in Lincoln Park on Sunday. In the photo, children on the New Life Church float are excited to be riding in the parade.
