During a called meeting held last Wednesday, the Thomaston-Upson Industrial Development Authority discussed matters of contracts, payroll services and policies and procedures for the entity. The board called a vote and current Executive Director Kyle Fletcher was unanimously approved to serve in that position for another two years with a three percent raise, giving her a salary of $60,951.28 per year. Fletcher has served in the position of TUIDA Executive Director since March 2012.

Also during the meeting, Administrative Assistant Susan Hill was approved for a six percent raise. TUIDA Board member and County Commission Chairman Rusty Blackston confirmed that the money for the raises had already been approved and included in the 2014 budget; therefore the TUIDA’s budget for the year would not change.

The board approved Driver and Adams, CPA to handle the payroll services for the TUIDA. Chairman Billy Johnston stated the firm is already handling the auditing services for the TUIDA and thought it best to keep everything at the same place.

Finally, minor changes were also approved to the policies and procedures for the TUIDA, with Attorney Joel Bentley noting the main change was to the performance evaluation that is to be done yearly.
