Some former Upson-Lee Knights dusted off their old cleats and dug through their closets for their gloves to participate in the First Annual Upson-Lee Alumni Baseball Game. Players from graduating classes ranging from 1996-2011 showed up at Historic Silvertown Ballpark Saturday to play a friendly game to raise money for the Upson-Lee baseball program. In front of a nice size crowd, the two teams played a high scoring affair, in which the “Away Knights” defeated the “Home Knights” by an 18-12 score. Included in the game was a home run from Matt Saylor (03’) and a mammoth home run from Eddie Peyton (‘10). Above are the players who participated in the game- 1st row (l to r) Walker Searcy (‘02), Matt Saylor (‘03), Anthony Blount (‘01), Tom Alverson (‘97), John VanHouten (‘96), Brian Jarrett (‘99), Derek Baughcom (‘10), and Matthew Bailey (‘04). 2nd row (l to r) Seth Perdue (‘98), Ben Williams (‘08), Andrew Crews (‘07), Zach Jones (‘11), Eddie Peyton (‘10), Matthew Gaskins (‘10), Skip Perry (‘96), Andrew Alverson (‘06), Brooks Johnson (‘02), and Bobby Bickley (‘98).
