The Upson-Lee Knights cross country team shocked Region 4 on Thursday afternoon by knocking off the defending Region Champions from Eagles Landing. Upson-Lee finished with three runners in the top 10 and five runners in the top 20 in the Region 4 Cross Country meet at the Rock Ranch. Dalton Strom set a new personal record by finishing third overall to lead the Knights with a time of 18:06. This is the first Cross Country Region Championship in Upson-Lee history. “I couldn’t be prouder of our boys and girls cross country teams,” said UL head coach Stephen Boyd. “Their hard work during the summer and this fall has paid off. Their desire to represent this school and community with pride makes them not only Region Champions but champions in life.” The Lady Knights also qualified for the State Meet by finishing third in the region.
