ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS The City of Thomaston is accepting sealed bids for the sale of surplus property determined to be scrap or "junk". The property is approximately several truck-loads of various scrap metal and "junked" equipment or vehicles. The material was collected from various equipment parts, recovered pipe, wiring, valves, and assorted scrap pieces. The material includes a former fork lift, tractor, stump grinder, bush hog accessories, and several junked vehicles. The sale of the material is "as is." The successful bidder will be required to provide the pricing for the various scrap material by the pound and a price per pound for vehicles or equipment. The city will deliver the material, vehicles, and equipment to successful vendor. The successful bidder is expected to submit payment in the form of a money order or cashier’s check on the day of the delivery. The material will be available for inspection by appointment. Sealed bids will be accepted at the Thomaston City Manager’s office until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2014. The prospective vendor must complete, sign, and submit the City of Thomaston bid sheet in order to be considered. The Thomaston City Manager’s Office is located at 106 East Lee Street, Thomaston, Georgia 30286. No bid may be withdrawn after the closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of thirty (30) days. On bid cover, please identify "scrap metal bid."
